Wienerberger

Having recently installed two brand new Gardner Denver compressors to Wienerberger, Broomfleet, we spoke to Rob Jennings from Wienerberger UK to get the low down on how our products and services have benefited them so far.

Wienerberger UK, part of the Wienerberger Group, is a leading building material solutions company, who produce a vast array of bricks, tiles and blocks for the commercial and trade sectors.

As with any modern day business, keeping outgoing costs to a minimum and saving energy is an uppermost priority. By working closely with The Ace Group they have been able to make changes now to save energy and ultimately money on a long-term basis. As a five year forecast, Wienerberger have estimated that across those five years the compressors will have paid for themselves and totalled a saving of £40,000 for the company. After they had explored their options with several different compressor companies it was clear that, The Ace Group was the preferred option in terms of providing quality products and service. Furthermore, Wienerberger have agreed to sign a service contract with The Ace Group to include monthly check ups and quarterly compressor servicing for complete peace of mind.

After installing the new compressors into the purpose built compressor house and upgrading the ring-main to 72ml, The Ace Group have been able to reduce the pressure across the system by one bar. This creates an energy saving of up to 7%. Also, following an extensive survey, The Ace Group identified a shut off valve which would have been costing Wienerberger up to £1000 per week!

During the installation Wienerberger were able to leave our engineers to complete the installation and were confident that the work was being done to the highest standard. The whole process from start to finish has been described as ‘pretty seamless’ and The Ace Group are proud to have built such a positive and strong relationship with the company, a relationship which is certain to continue to grow. In the future, Wienerberger is looking to make further savings by employing The Ace Group’s services to aid them in installing Heat Recovery Systems in order to utilise the surplus heat produced by the compressors.

The Ace Group are also honoured to be supporting Production Engineer Rob Jennings in his upcoming charity bike ride. Rob will be cycling from Newcastle to London in just 24 hours, an incredible 310 miles! A keen cyclist, he will be riding for the very worthy cause of Macmillan Cancer Support. Rob has a target of £600 to raise and we are delighted to be able to sponsor him for £100. The whole team at The Ace Group would like to wish Rob and his cycling companions the very best of luck and are sure that he will complete the ride and exceed his target!
