Supporting Local Learning…
The Cool & Heat team have recently supported local learning by donating an Air Conditioning Unit to PRTC. The team currently have several apprentices studying at the college and the unit will assist with their hands-on learning as well as the other students who attend the courses there.
Courses at PRTC
The college run many courses including City and Guilds and NVQ level air conditioning courses at the Practical Refrigeration Training Centre (PRTC) delivered through a combination of lectures and practical workshops. Cool & Heat currently have three apprentices attending the college who also work as part of the team to allow them to demonstrate the skills they have learned in a real work setting.
We spoke to PRTC to see how the donation of the new air conditioning unit would benefit the college and its students.
“Supporting the future of the RACHP industry is important and we gladly welcome the recent very generous donation of air conditioning equipment which the apprentices can use whilst on the apprenticeship programme. As the industry moves forward it is vital that companies support structured learning. This provides more opportunities to apply their knowledge and use the skill set which has been taught.” – Glen Greenbank F.Inst.R., Managing Director of PRTC
